Dear Members and Friends of the YMCA:
We are certainly living in interesting and challenging times and while our country is undergoing many changes, some things remain the same. One of those is the value of your YMCA membership. One result of the economic turmoil we are experiencing is that we are all evaluating how we spend our money in our household budgets and trying to make sure that we are getting as much value as possible. The good news is that your YMCA membership provides tremendous value when you consider the return provided by your "investment". Your membership gives you access to all of our six facilities, including our Ruder Family Outdoor Water Park; access to multiple programs at no additional cost such as group cycling, various water fitness classes, and many other aerobic cardio classes. In addition, for a nominal additional fee, you have access to dance, martial arts, yoga, pilates and personal training classes. The Y is also a great place to spend time with your family and to hold events such as birthday parties. We also offer many different youth sports options such as tee ball, soccer, basketball, swimming and gymnastics. How does this stack up with other types of household expenditures? Check out the following comparison chart.
One Month YMCA Family Membership Rate = $71
One family night at the movies with snacks = $85
One family night dinner at a modestly priced restaurant = $72
One person season pass to Kings Island = $89
One month of satellite television service = $72
As you can see, your YMCA membership has tremendous relative value when you compare it to other ways in which we spend our money. The key is that you need to take advantage of the many opportunities that your membership provides you by getting involved and participate. And if you kicked off the New Year with an exercise resolution, don't stop now. Our experience has shown over and over that once you stop your exercise routine it is increasingly difficult to re-start so keep it going throughout the summer and fall and you will see and feel the positive results of this continued commitment when it is time to establish next year's resolutions.
